This is an independent, volunteer-built tool by crew, for crew. Any trademarks belong to their respective owners.
What this app is
GravelSignal is a peer-to-peer situational awareness board. Crew members tap what they see at checkpoints — parking conditions, line at the gas station, restroom status — and other crews see those reports.
Reports are user-generated, unverified, and may be wrong, outdated, or missing entirely. Treat every signal as a rough heads-up, not a guarantee. Always verify critical conditions yourself.

The app is provided "AS IS" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to accuracy, availability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the app's creators and contributors are not liable for any damages, losses, missed connections, missed cutoffs, traffic violations, or any other harm arising from use of or reliance on this app.
Do not use the app while driving. Do not rely on it for safety-critical decisions. Follow all official race communications, posted signage, and the directions of race officials and law enforcement.
Privacy
We don't want your data. The app is designed to work without an account.
- No login. No email. No phone number required.
- Rider pins, race choice, and your saved settings are stored locally on your device (browser localStorage). They never leave your phone unless you explicitly share them.
- Reports you submit (parking, line length, etc.) are anonymous and visible to all other crews. Don't include personal info in report notes.
- We use no third-party analytics, ad networks, or trackers. We do not sell or share data because there is no personal data to share.
- Standard server logs (IP address, request time, user agent) may be retained briefly for abuse prevention and operational debugging, then discarded.
SMS messaging terms
Program: GravelSignal Race Alerts. By opting in, you agree to receive automated SMS alerts from GravelSignal about the rider and checkpoints you subscribed to — parking conditions, line status, cutoff warnings, weather and safety notices, and rider tracker updates.
Frequency: recurring, approximately 5–15 messages per race weekend per subscription. Volume spikes around checkpoint windows and cutoff times.
Cost: message and data rates may apply. GravelSignal does not charge for the alerts; your mobile carrier's standard rates apply.
Opt-out: reply STOP to any message to cancel. You'll receive one confirmation message and no further alerts on that number until you opt back in.

Carriers: supported on all major US carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Privacy: phone numbers submitted for SMS alerts are used solely to deliver the alerts you subscribed to and are never sold, shared with third parties, or used for marketing. See the Privacy section above for full details.
Acceptable use
Don't submit false reports, spam, harassment, or anything illegal. Don't try to impersonate race officials. Don't scrape or hammer the API. We may remove reports or block devices that abuse the service, with no notice and no obligation.
Changes
The app, these terms, and the data model may change at any time without notice, including before, during, and after race day. If you keep using the app, you accept the current version of these terms.
